about the sitter

I am Salome. I model in Tbilisi and wherever the work takes me: editorials, lookbooks, campaigns, and one music video I am still not allowed to talk about. Photographers tend to book me for the quiet frames, the ones that need stillness instead of noise, and after eight years I can tell you that stillness is a skill you rehearse like anything else.

Off set I am the one asking what film stock is loaded. I shoot my own rolls on a dented Zenit that belonged to my grandfather, and on Sundays I print in a rented darkroom near the river. Standing on both sides of the camera has made me better at my job: I know exactly what the person behind the lens is waiting for, because I have stood there waiting for it too.

I work calm and prepared: references studied, call sheet read twice, coffee already had. Book me for editorial, beauty, portrait sittings and anything analog. I will hold a pose through eleven sheets of large format without complaint, and I will absolutely ask to stay and watch the contact sheet come up in the developer.
