Amara is six years old and has never once been asked to smile twice. Her first studio session was meant to be a quick test shoot; forty minutes later the photographer had twelve completely different faces from one small girl in one denim skirt, and three of them went straight into a casting deck. She has been working ever since.

She is built for studio work: campaigns, kidswear lookbooks and anything that needs personality delivered on cue. Ask her for happy and you get sunshine; ask her for cross and you get a tiny film star folding her arms like the brief owes her money. Clients call her a one-take kid. Her mum would like the record to show she is a seventeen-take kid at bedtime.
