The Wall of Two Hundred Sneakers
The brief said 'aspirational but approachable'. Then someone put me in front of every sneaker in Poland and told me not to touch anything.

I was scouted at a tram stop on Marszałkowska, holding a zapiekanka the size of my forearm, and I like to think that set the tone for my whole career: I am at my best when something slightly ridiculous is happening. Ten years on, I've done runway, beauty counters and billboards, but the bookings that keep coming back are the ones where I get to move, laugh, and knock something over on purpose.
My range, according to art directors, is 'sunshine with opinions'. I can hold a serious beauty close-up - I have the jewellery campaigns to prove it - but hand me a tracksuit, a wall of two hundred sneakers, or an orange lamp from 1974 and you will get the frames the client actually prints. I take direction fast, I bring my own energy to slow sets, and I genuinely love the job, which photographs better than cheekbones.

A love letter to the best set I've ever worked on: a 1970s living room with a blue velvet sofa, a red shag rug, and one perfect orange lamp.

Street-style shooting in Warsaw's old town, in a sixty-year-old silhouette, while tourists gave me a slow round of applause.
